Tralalla Program
Welcome to 2018's Tralalla Music Festival. This year we are showcasing several exceptional artists and bands. True to our roots, these folks will make you tap your toes, sing along, and might just get you up out of your seat to dance along!
Dueling Train is the work of two siblings with a dream. Zevonne and Hendryck Sorris (each on guitar) have put together a band with a soulful blues vision. With Cedric Rivas on the bass, Lanna Charles on the drum kit, Tryanna Pines on sax, and Blaine Zunes on the keyboard, they give you some of the best blues this area has to offer. From old favorites to original songs, their tight harmonies and dueling (hence the "dueling" in their name) guitar riffs leave the listener mesmerized. Their melodies make you feel an emotional connection all the way to your core. You're in for a real treat!
Cherrilynne (Cherrye) Melmer and Piper(Pi) Nordland are the duo that make up the team named "Cherrye Pi." These ladies serve up some sweet acoustic melodies. Their sets, sometimes interspersed with original a cappella tunes, leave you with a harmonious zen feeling...as if everything is all right with the world. You will enjoy their delectable serving of music that has a definite country/indie slant.
This band will surprise you with their slant on everything from classic rock standards to their take on newer rock favorites. Come get your groove on as they jam with us at Tralalla. Alan Sypes(guitar & vocals), Leta Hall(vocals), Tyrone Wassenger(bass), Levi Waterby(drums), and Rho Kelley(keyboard) produce some of the most danceable music yet. You can't help but find yourself up and grooving when they take the stage.
This group offers some of the best happy calypso music around. They are part of our program that is inclusive of families and their children. Their wholesome happy sound is perfect for dancing and bopping around on a lazy summer afternoon. Electric Breeze plays many of the local festivals here in the Northwest. This band is incorporated with our afternoon kids parade that celebrates the sounds of summer! From Calypso to R&B, they sprinkle in a little Reggae too. Zada Tyger, Rhia Tonno, Mario Zubas, Jetta Varia, Roger Gonzalez, Trina Gonzalez, Pep Richards, and Andre Xyfer make up this tuneful troupe. Quite the group of musicians, they can all play each other's instruments and mix it up regularly. They say it keeps things interesting!
Our afternoon Kids Parade is an annual tradition. Headlined by Electric Breeze, our Kids Parade floats through the entire festival. Kiddos sporting bright whirligigs, streamers, and musical instruments cavort with fairies and friends as they celebrate the sounds of summer, friends, and family!!
For your listening pleasure Honeyye(vocals) and Thomas Wilson (guitar & vocals) teamed up with Zeb Coelar(bass), James Tasic (drums), and Vip Drussk (keyboard, mandolin, & violin) dish out some of the foot stompin'-ist, toe tapping-ist tunes around. This band's repertoire includes rockabilly, bluegrass, Americana, and country music. You can't help but find yourself dustin' off your dancin' shoes as they command the stage. Resistance is futile!
Here is a homegrown favorite. No Tralalla Festival would ever be complete without Terk's Trio. This group's a side dish of that original group of musical folks who founded both the Tralallla Community Club (TCC..please join!) and pushed for the Tralalla Music Festival. While they only play Tralalla, they are a beloved and talented local favorite. Terk (Bill Terkelson)(guitar), Bob Werlacher (bass), and Tim Spreight(sax or violin) comprise this triple treat trio. Not defined by any musical genre, this threesome is a musical delight.
